Prefer an experienced copywriter?
I’ve been a writer for over thirty years, long before I knew that copywriting was a ‘thing’. I’ve nurtured and nudged hundreds of people in companies and communities to tell standout business stories with fewer words and more meaning. I find lost plots and fresh angles.

Looking for wide expertise?
I started 4Words in Yallingup, Western Australia in 2013. Before that I spent twenty years winning grants, and managing digital training projects, and award-winning not-for-profit programs. My persuasive writing powers are finely tuned. Besides being a wordsmith, I know how graphic design and web development works.

Focused on speed and efficiency?
My clients lost no sleep when I moved to France in 2016. They know they’ll wake up to fresh copy with their morning coffee, no matter where I am. Most importantly, I make scarce resources do astounding things.
Running a tight budget, a tiny team, and working to diabolical deadlines? I can help
Eight other things about me
Life-long runner, winter swimmer, crazy about cheese, scared of heights, bossed by a ginger cat, wife to a darling husband, grumpy loser of board games, often curled up with a crime novel.
Wondering how I work?
When you contact me, here’s what happens:
1. Chat and propose
We organise a time to chat about your project by Skype or Zoom or telephone. If we’re a good fit, I send you a copy brief so you can give me enough information to write you a detailed proposal and quote.
2. Confirm and commit
We discuss and finalise the scope and timing of your project based on this proposal. You secure your place in my schedule with a 50% deposit.
3. Research and write for tone
You give me any and all background material we’ve agreed on. I take a forensic look at your competitors’ websites and social media. I research your industry and pinpoint your customers’ problems. I find creative, credible ways to convince people of your great solutions.
I write the first page so you can approve the tone (does it sound like you only better?)
4. Write and review the first draft
You give me the go ahead, I write the first draft. If you love it we go straight to sign off.
If we need to tweak the copy, your quote covers two rounds of revisions. It’s fast and easy to do revisions via Skype or Zoom. However, you can also mark up the draft using the track changes tool in MS Word.
5. Sign off and celebrate
Once you’ve signed off on the final draft, I’ll invoice you for the balance of your bill. My payment terms are 14 days. If you’re happy to give me a testimonial, I’ll be delighted.
